SOURCE-BASED ANALYSIS · NO HANDS-ON RATING
Define the record contract first
List the module, fields, required status, owner, consent text and follow-up action before building the form. Collect only data needed for the stated purpose. A hidden field or default value should have a documented source and should not silently override a visitor's answer.
Match the allowed location
Zoho documents a form location URL check. Record the exact production host and path pattern where the form will run. A wildcard expands the accepted locations and should be used only when the operational need and risk have been reviewed.
Choose the review path
The Request for Approval option routes generated records for manual validation. Define who has permission to approve, the checks they perform and the response when a duplicate or suspicious submission appears. Without approval, submitted records may be added directly to the module according to the configuration.
| Test | Expected result |
|---|---|
| Valid submission from approved URL | One record or one pending approval |
| Duplicate email | Follow configured duplicate and approval policy |
| Submission from unapproved host | No captured record |
| Required field omitted | Visible validation without partial record |
Test the embedded result
- Use synthetic contact information.
- Test source, embed or iframe format as actually published.
- Confirm responsive layout and accessible labels.
- Submit valid, invalid and duplicate fixtures.
- Verify owner, source, approval state and acknowledgement.
- Remove the test records after evidence is captured.
Separate form delivery from analytics
Visitor tracking is a separate configuration with privacy implications. Do not add it merely because the form builder offers the option. Record the embed version and retest whenever the site domain, fields, approval setting or duplicate policy changes.
